Under New York City Fire Code 3 RCNY 505, updates to egress illumination markings were made to better assist emergency response personnel locating dwelling units in Group R-1 and Group R-2 buildings or occupancies. These updates included affixing unit doors with specific markings that will be better seen and recognized by emergency personnel.
